Chapter 1: Reluctance Motors;
Introduction:
1- Poly-phase. 2- Split-phase. 3- Capacitor-type stator windings.
Advantages:
The reluctance motor is cheaper.
Disadvantages:
1- Low output power. 2- Low power factor. 3- Low efficiencies.
4- Large stator current. 5- High power losses.
Utilizations:
1- An electromechanical energy conversion.
2- Robotic and dick.
3- Electronic speed control.
Equations:
Chapter 2: Permanent-Magnet Machine;
Equations:
***What is the different between A.C and D.C Permanent-Magnet?***
DC motors: stator permanent-magnet , rotor is coil and brushes.
AC motors: rotor permanent-magnet , stator is coil.
Advantages:
1-They do not require external. 2-Low power losses. 3-Smaller. 4-Cheaper.
5-In AC machines, slip rings and brushes are not required.
Disadvantages:
1- Low output power. 2- Low power factor.
Utilizations:
DC motors: used in games.
AC motors: used in computers.
This motor is used in a personal computer disk drive.
Equations:
Chapter 3: Servomotors;
Advantages:
1-Their power rating can vary from a fraction of a watt up to a few 100 watts.
2-High speed of response . 3-Low rotor inertia (torque).
4- Smaller in diameter & Longer in length . 5-Operate at low or zero speed.
Utilizations:
1- Process controllers. 2-Tracking & Guidance systems. 3- Feedback control systems.
4-Robots. 5-Radars. 6-computers. 7-Machine tools.
D.C Servomotors
Servomotors are separately excited D.C motors or permanent magnet D.C motors.
A.C Servomotors
They may take the form of tow phase squirrel cage induction motor.
***What the difference of D.C Servomotors & A.C Servomotors?***
D.C Servomotors: 1-High power. 2-High inertia (torque).
A.C Servomotors: 1-Low power. 2-Low inertia (torque).
