و يتلخص نشاطه فى معاونة الطلبة بإعداد المادة العلمية لأبحاثهم و دراساتهم و تقاريرهم و المشروع و ذلك من خلال مكتبته الإلكترونية المكونة من أكثر من 70 سى دى تحتوى على 15 ألف ملف و قد تخرج بمعاونته كثير من الطلبة . و يرغب فى تقديم هذه الخدمة مجانا لعدد 3 طلبة شهريا أى حوالى 18 طالبا حتى نهاية العام و ليس له أى شروط سوى الآتى :
عدم التحدث فى السياسة
طالب هندسة ( بكالوريوس أو أى سنة دراسية /دبلوم دراسات عليا/ ماجستير / دكتوراة/ معيد/ مدرس )
تخصص ( ميكانيكا بجميع أقسامها/كهرباء قوى/مدنى)

The effect of a number of open feedwater heaters on the thermal efficiency of an ideal Rankine cycle is to be investigated for a plant that produces 400 MW of power output. Steam leaves the steam generator at 15 MPa, 600C, and the cycle has a condenser pressure of 10 kPa. Determine the thermal efficiency for each of the following cases. A: No feedwater heater. B: One feedwater heater operating at 5 MPa. C: Two feedwater heaters, one operating at 5 MPa and the other at 1.5 MPa. D: Three feedwater heaters, one operating at 10 MPa, second at 5 MPa, and the third at 1.0 MPa.

Some Design Considerations

(a) You may note that an open-type feed water heater may be installed at any intermediate pressure between 15 MPa and 10 kPa. Investigate the intermediate pressure(s) at which the system will give you optimum performance for one, two, and three heater(s).

(b) If the cost of installing a single feedwater heater is 5% of the total cost of 0.8 x 106 $/MW of the simple power plant with no heaters, discuss the economics of adding feedwater heater(s) with respect to improvement in the plant efficiency. The cost of heat energy that is to be added to the boiler may be considered as 0.02 $/MJ. Also discuss how many years would be needed to recover the cost of installing, for example, two feedwater heaters.

(c) Discuss what would be the environmental impact of adding feedwater heaters?
