I think songs doesn't give you the correct english, I mean- as in arabic songs-you can't get the valuable vacabulary and grammer from songs.
But the best tool is to READ, the internet has every thing ready for you. search for newsletters or editorial sections and read. one of the great sites : aldaily.com, it has articles that you can choose one every day and read. first few days you feel it's impossible, especially that there will be ALOT of new words that you don't know, but by time you'll be surprised.
the second tool is to listen, not to songs, but to courses or educational movies. and you can search the web for them its all there. try to repeat any interesting sentences, try to play with the accent. you can record your voice and evaluate yourself.
the third part is to write, what will cost you if you wrote let's say two sentences about any thing daily. let's say if you read an article try to summerize it and try to use some of the new words you learned that day.
finally you can get a book or get a course, but after all the three steps I mentioned this stage won't take so long.
